Online Projects

Too often we give children answers to remember rather than problems to solve."
Roger Lewin

How do I get started?
1. Goals Ensure the student learning goals for the activity are:
* related to the curriculum.
* could not be accomplished at all, or as well, using more traditional teaching/learning tools.
2. Structure Choose the activity's structure - Examples
Will you join an existing project or create your own?
3. Details Determine the details of your project - project start/finish dates; type of work students will be required to do; class time committment; technology required
4. Connect Connect with a class to set up an exchange or project, join a project or invite others to join your project
5. Communicate Communicate and participate with other classes in the learning.
Involve students in the ongoing facilitation of the project.
6. Closure Create a final product (report, presentation, video, webpage) that can be shared with all participants and made available to a larger, interested community.

How do I do it? What does it look like? How do I assess? How can I learn more? What is it?
