Inquiry Learning

"Tell me and I forget, show me and I remember, involve me and I understand."

How is the Inquiry Classroom Different from the Traditional Classroom

  • Teachers give out information
  • Student goals are to master content. Memorizing facts and information is a very important skill
  • Lessons are organized for whole-class approach
  • Information is limited to what is available in the classroom or the school
  • Technology focus is on learning about computers rather than it's application
  • Assessment focus is on the importance of "one right answer" on a test

How do I do it? What does it look like? How do I assess? How can I learn more? What is it?
